Banksman Training
CPD Approved
£25
A banksman's function on a construction site is to ensure the safe movement of vehicles and machinery by acting as the "eyes" for drivers, especially when visibility is limited. They use particular hand signals or two-way radios to guide vehicles such as cranes, trucks, and excavators, thereby reducing accidents, property damage, and pedestrian injuries. Banksman manage traffic flow to decrease risks, improve site productivity, and guarantee that operations such as loading and unloading are completed safely.
This training covers common vehicle reversing accidents and the banksman's vital role. It will also examine ways to prevent such incidents. Management must implement risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and Personal Protection Equipment to prevent accidents. You will examine a bankman's duties on site, including safety standards, controls, and recommendations. We will address driving laws and safe driver-banksman teamwork. We'll conclude with vehicle hazard safety checks and banksmen's industry-standard hand and verbal indicators for vehicle transfers.
